The guys had an awesome day today!  Caught a small dolphin and a 500 lb Blue Marlin thought it looked like a good lunch!  They had a successful release!  Ended the day with a nice catch of dolphin and seeing another Blue Marlin.   Great job!  Great day of fishing!!!

It has been epic Dolphin fishing!!  All the nice gaffer sized Dolphin you want and tons of  fun to catch!!!  They jump, they pull and what a gorgeous fish!!  One of my favorites to eat!  We loaded the box and topped the day off with a Sailfish release yesterday.  Great weather, catching  fish and having tons of fun, this is what fishing is all about aboard the Pelican!  It’s Hot Fishing!!!

It just goes to show we never know what will happen and what we will see when we leave the dock.  It has been a complete mix with Blue Marlin releases, White Marlin releases , Tuna and nice catches of Dolphin for the Pelican.  Yesterday, we had a twelve year old release a White Marlin while ending their day with twenty five dolphin and a total of three White Marlin releases.

The last few days have been full of excitement!!  The Cobia have arrived!  Yesterday, we had the Cecil family and DeVilla family aboard starting the day seeing plenty of Cobia, Taylor Cecil enjoyed her fifteenth birthday landing a Cobia over forty pounds and catching a nice Citation Red Drum.  Her sister Logan,11,caught two citation Red Drum and Ray Devilla, 13, caught a Cobia weighing over forty pounds and two citation Red Drum.  We were sight casting and came upon a huge yellow tinted area as we approached we casted and soon found that this was the mother load of Red Drum.  We left the school with twelve releases and went on to Cobia fishing.  Ended our day with three very excited kids and proud parents along with Cobia for dinner.  Great Job!!  Today, Arch and I, continuing our Cobia induced fever, enjoyed a beautiful calm day sightcasting for Cobia.  I landed two, Arch landed one and William Howell landed a pig.  A great way to spend our last few days funfishing with friends and family!  Offshore fishing has been great too, there have been nice catches of gaffer Dolphin, nice sized Yellowfin Tuna and a few billfish released.  There is an abundance of life in the sea and this has been a great way to kick off the season!! The last several trips have been great with a mix of Dolphin, Tuna, Cobia, Sailfish, White Marlin and yesterday releasing a Blue Marlin.  The weather has been very cooperative and today we are heading out for family fun looking for Cobia.     Keep in mind June and July are excellent times for filling the box and possibly releasing a few Marlin!  Let’s go fishing!!!
