Off shore trip are what memories are made of

Between the wind and family matters we have been laying low. Seems like this NE gale won’t quit. Maybe by the end of the week.  Tuna bite has been good when you can get to them. Running off shore for a good bite can easily be taken for granted when you live and breath it. Fact […]

Dolphin Match

Yesterday was a challenging day for the fleet and finding Yellowfins, but there was no shortage of Dolphin to be had…strange this time of year.  The stream was pushed out pretty far and nothing short of 60 miles off shore to find fish too.  The last few days with the exception of bad weather days, the […]

Mixed Bag

Today was interesting for most, a mixed bag of Wahoo, Dolphin and Yellowfin Tuna landed on the dock today.  Looking forward to a nice weekend in hopes that more Yellowfin show up.

Weather Permitting…

The fleet has been docked the past couple of days due to weather but when able to get to the blue water the catches of Balckfin and Yellowfin tuna have been exceptional.  Not uncommon for this time of year, great action and tuna fishing at its finest.  No doubt that you will have a great […]

Tuna Time!!!!!

It’s on!!!  Limits of Yellowfin Tuna have been the highlight on the Pelican.  We have consistently filled the box with the occasional bonus of a billfish.  Today we caught Yellowfin up to 60lb’s.   The weather was beautiful today and the ocean was full of life.  A perfect Fall fishing day and we’re looking forward to more to […]

Time for Tuna!

September ended on an up note for the Pelican. The crew caught 1 Blue Marlin, 2 White Marlin and a Salifish last Friday and Saturday.  Now the Tuna bite is on. Our make up party caught there limit of Yellow Fin today! We’ve got some days open!

Blue One

If you ask Arch the fishing was slow today.  Lynn Tucker and Jason Waughtel may have felt a bit differently. They caught and released a Blue Marlin in the 400 pound range and put a Tuna in the box. Not many Whites around today.  The Tuna bite to the south continues to be a bit […]

And Then There is Catching

Some days you got to run far to find White Marlin.  Today was one of them.  The 60 mile run was worth the trip for Tom Postlethwait and his friends from Delaware. They caught and released 7 White Marlin out of the 10 seen. Not many boats from the OBX fleet ventured that far but […]
