The White Marlin fishing is still going strong! Yesterday, Capt. Arch and crew released seven white marlin raising twelve. A little rougher seas than we’ve had the past few days, but the fish were still out there pretty strong. There have also been nice blue marlin and sails mixed in! This has been great for the entire Oregon Inlet Fishing Fleet and looking forward to these fish staying within our reach! If we can get to them, The Pelican will raise them! Great job to Paul Hunt and his friends for handling these marlin so well.

We slid a mackeral back and it ate, Dave Powers caught his first Blue Marlin! Congrats Dave!! First fish of the day and the riggers were’nt even down yet. We moved on, releasing 19 White Marlin and seeing plenty more. We also saw a few sailfish mixed in. There is a ton of activity and beautiful sights out in this water, these are days you dream of in a lifetime! 47 Marlin released in 2 two days!!
World class fishing aboard the Pelican today. Brian Light, Dave Powers and Bob Bowers did an excellent job angling four and five white marlins coming into the spread at one time!! The Pelican raised 37 white marlin releasing 27, a new record aboard the Pelican beating last years record of 23. Capt. Capt. Arch and the crew aboard the Pelican enjoyed a nice day and excellent fishing yesterday. Hurricane Earl had not disrupted any fishing patterns that we can tell so far. Todd Brown and friends raised six white marlin releasing four. Great angling guys!! The weather looks great for the rest of the week with calm seas to enjoy.
The Pelican and the rest of the fleet made it safely through the hurricane without any damage to note. Currently the weather is absolutely beautiful and we are looking forward to getting back in the sea’s tomorrow. Before Earl made it’s approach off the NC coast we had an excellent day of fishing. Six white marlin were released off the Pelican and we expect with calm seas, and a great weather forecast, the Pelican will continue to see these marlin. We dodged a bullet! Let’s go fishing!!
