Arch talked him into it!

John Bailey has found a groove. After yesterday’s great fishing it did not take much encouragement from Arch to convince John to stay and go for it again today. 14 Whites and a 1 Blue Marlin later no one has any regrets and a great catch count to boot.  Next open dates are now October 1 – […]

The bite continues……….

John Bailey was back on board the Pelican for one last time this season. Arch found the fish while John and his friend Bill did their part. When it was all done they released 11 out of 17 Whites and missed a sail. John has had a remarkable season with over 30 billfish hooked an […]

Not quite as good….

There are a lot of boats that would call 5 Whites released out of a dozen bites a good day. Obviously the fish were harder to find. Boats from as far away as Cape May NJ joined the fleet today. The Pelican is available this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!

Now we’re Talking!

It’s  getting good. Really good. The Pelican hosted Tom Alber and a group of his friends today.  They ran about 40 miles N and E of the inlet today and set up shop in the thick of it.  Some 25 shots later and by the end of a great day they released 17 Whites and […]

When the going gets rough

While it was a bit  “snotty” today the strong NE wind did not stop the Pelican or Brian Light and his friends. They like it rough and were not disappointed. The White Marlin bite continues as the boat and crew managed to release 5 of the 10 Whites interested in the spread.

It’s on!

Brian Light flew in from Portland Oregon and met up with his buddies from Virginia for their annual outing on board the Pelican. Everyone was present and mostly sober bright and early. Off they ran to numbers only known to a select few.  The results were great. They went 9/16 on Whites and 1 Blue […]

Slam!

The fishing is fantastic. The Pelican and crew logged a grand slam with 6 Whites,  1 Sail and Blue Marlin today. A shout out to John Bailey for a remarkable achievement. A Pelican regular and fishing the OCLTC tournament, John has chalked up two personal grand slams in as many days.

Great Fishing!

While the Pelican had a good day with 4 Whites and 1 Sail a few of the other boats in the fleet found them big time. Reports of 14 Whites, Grand Slams and Double Grand Slams were numerous.  The Pelican had a Blue one in the spread but it was not to be.

What we Expect!

The bite turned on today! OCLTC members onboard the Pelican caught and released 6 Whites and 5 Sails.  Overall the bill fishing is very good..  At least one boat reported a double grand slam. Honorable mention goes out to the Double B.  5 Blue ones……..
