The Tuna have become a bit more finicky. Persistence and patience pays off as Dr. Rollins and friends caught there limit today.  Not bad for July.   The 11th, 12th and 13th of July have just opened up.  Drop us an email or call 252-441-3197 and talk to Arch about it.

Smaller but still numerous Yellow Fin Tuna,  a 118 pound Big Eye and gaffer Dolphin.  Missed a Blue One yesterday.

Arch and Lee,
We would all like to thank you guys for such a great trip! You were both laid back and enjoyable to be around. All of us enjoyed hearing Lee’s stories about throwing the fish, and missing the dock as well as hearing his thoughts on tv shows like Wicked Tuna and River Monsters. You both where great with Jimmy he is only 10, and it was his second time offshore. You guys treated him like everyone else, and still let him fish, not every boat would let him do that. He won’t stop talking about how much fun he had aboard the Pelican. We can’t wait until next year to go back out with you guys! (Arch, we hope you enjoyed the donuts) Attached are three pictures of the group at the dock, and Jimmy with his Mahi and Tuna. Thanks again for such a great time! Jimmie and the Gaffer Dolphin

Tim Jeffries along with family and friends from Virginia Beach enjoyed a bountiful day on the Pelican.  In spite of the choppy seas they managed a box full of Tuna and Dolphin.

Good meat fishing continues. A box almost full of Yellowfin and a couple dolphin. The Marlin are starting to show up to the south.

Steve Woods and his friends from Virginia caught there limit of Tuna along with a few Dolphin today. They were treated to the Pelican’s first White Marlin of the season.  Overall the Tuna fishing has been excellent. More Marlin are starting to show up.

The Pelican limited out on Yellowfin today along with 3 nice gaffer Dolphin.  To top it off Bob and Lee wrestled with the 144 pound Bigeye in the photo.

The Wood clan  joined in on the Tuna action on board the Pelican today.  They caught there limit along with a few Dolphin. Arch was talked into allowing them to put a camera in the water off the stern.  Hopefully something will come of that. Stay tuned. The Tuna bite is turning into the best in a couple of years.  Next up?Woods June 17 2013

In spite of some downright rough seas Bob McCulley and his crew were able to limit out on Tuna before lunch on board the Pelican. At least 2 weighed in at 70 + Pounds.  The bite has been really good and the weather conditions should settle down over the next few days.  In addition to the bounty of Tuna a couple of Marlin have been caught among the fleet.

Tuna before noon, it’s now time to comb the beach for Cobia.  Check in for the results later. 17 Cobia caught!
